Pilot test coming soon! #Cabletroll 800_MCTDR Nortroll
📢 In early May 2026, we organized a pilot test of Nortroll’s new equipment, recently arrived from Norway, which allows for 24/7 monitoring of the underground medium/high voltage network.
The demonstration was carried out on a medium-voltage network belonging to AgrienergÃa, a utility company with which we have been collaborating for years. Thanks to this system, they receive a weekly report from Norway detailing the line’s status, providing information to anticipate potential incidents and implement corrective actions before a fault occurs.
This demonstration, conducted for the first time in Spain after its success in other countries, involved the participation of technicians from the factory and the electricity distribution company. During the tests, the system’s performance in network supervision and preventive monitoring tasks was continuously evaluated.
The solution detects and reports potential line anomalies before a fault occurs, sending logs directly to the SCADA system with precise information on the time and location of the incident. This is a key tool for optimizing maintenance, reducing response times, and improving the reliability of the electrical infrastructure.
The increasing integration of renewable energy means that more and more wind farms and photovoltaic plants are transmitting their energy through underground networks to substations, where it is transformed and distributed to the end consumer. Having continuous monitoring systems like CableTroll 800_MCTDR is key to detecting incidents early, preventing power outages, and ensuring a more reliable, efficient, and digitized electrical grid.
